Wes Anderson should try directing a Muppet movie. The thought came to me after watching The Grand Budapest Hotel and Muppets Most Wanted... then staring at random images from both films...they're the same. Anderson's films have always had an unreal, caricatured look to them (with the exception of Bottle Rocket and Rushmore, because they were made on a shoestring)...
Kermit as Ralph Fiennes, Miss Piggy as Tilda Swinton, Fozzie as Owen Wilson, Sam Eagle as Bill Murray, The Great Gonzo as Adrian Brody, Walter the Whatnot as that bellboy, Tina Fey as Cloris Leachman - I could go on, but then this joke would get old.
I enjoyed both films, by the way. I couldn't help but notice that the Muppets' target demo may be all-ages, but I noticed the audience I was sitting with in the theatre were all adults - including the fifty-something gentleman who brought an Animal plush doll with him...makes sense, since the theatre in question (the AMC theatre at Times Square) offered showings of Muppets Most Wanted AFTER 10 pm...
I wonder... did he have Miss Piggy?
